Islamic scholar voted world’s No1 thinker
In its survey (June 2008) of the world’s top intellectual in a poll to find the leading thinkers, the top 10 individuals were all Muslims and included two Noble laureates – the novelist Orhan Pamuk (Turkey) and Shirin Ebadi (Iran).
The survey was organised by the British magazine, Prospect, and Foreign Policy, a US publication to find the leading 100 thinkers.
Turkish Islamic scholar, Fethullah Gulen, has been voted the world’s top intellectual in the poll to find the leading 100 thinkers. His message is to embrace the Western world’s opportunities, while still insisting on Islam’s fundamentals. 67 years old Fethullah’s life is dedicated to peace and humanity. His ‘Gulen Movement’ runs in 90 countries.
